CHINA SCANNING PUBLIC TOILETS FOR HEALTH PROBLEMS

DW: Can these toilets detect sadness and defeat?

In China, public restrooms now feature high-tech urinals that can analyze urine for various health markers. Available for just $2.76, the Shanghai-based documentary director Christian Petersen-Clausen shared his experience on a viral thread, highlighting the convenience and ease of the process.

Despite worrying about privacy at first, he actually found out some useful stuff about his health, like his calcium levels. Then, he stumbled upon another one of these urinals and saw his calcium levels had improved. These machines, testing for Vitamin C, creatinine, white blood cells, and glucose, are popping up all over China, especially in places like shopping malls. But, just a heads up, they're not meant for diagnosing medical issues…just for keeping tabs on your health.
