Avenged Sevenfold frontman M. Shadows says the band's latest album has a "twist" thanks to new drummer Arin Ilejay.
Arin is about seven years younger than the rest of the band, which brought some new influences into the group when it came time to record their first full album with the newcomer behind the kit.
But Shadows tells "Billboard" they're not trying to reinvent the wheel with the new set, explaining that they just want to "put a different flavor on the music." He says they're all "big believers in metal with a foot in the blues," adding that many people would probably be surprised to hear that they consider Elton John and the Beatles among their influences.
Fans can hear Avenged Sevenfold's unique mix on their sixth studio effort, Hail to the King, which arrives in stores today.
