Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" is enjoying a resurgence in popularity.
Billboard.com says the 1987 chart-topping hit has re-entered the Hot 100 at number 25, and is debuting on the Streaming Songs chart at number five with a 390% increase in streams over the previous week.
"Livin' on a Prayer" returned to the Rock charts last week, and is on the rise. After debuting on the Hot Rock Songs list at number 19, it's now in the top ten at number eight. The track opened on the Rock Streaming Songs chart at number 12, and in a week has jumped to the number two spot.
The renewed interest in the Bon Jovi classic is being attributed to user-generated videos - specifically a 2009 clip of a man dancing to the song at a Boston Celtics game that has gone viral.
"Livin' on a Prayer," from the album Slippery When Wet, was Bon Jovi's second chart-topping single. The song was perched at the number one spot on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks for the first two weeks of February, 1987, and marked a four-week run at number one on the Hot 100 starting on the February 14th, 1987 chart.
Ohhhhhh we're half way there!
