Former lostprohets frontman Ian Watkins is trying to shorten the length of his 35-year sentence for child sex offenses.
Late last year he pleaded guilty to 13 charges that included attempted rape of a baby, and was sentenced to 29 years in prison and six years on probation.
Now, BBC News says his lawyer filed an application for permission to appeal at the Court of Appeal in Wales earlier this week.
As it stands now, Watkins will have to serve two-thirds of the prison time before he's eligible for parole.
