Sacha Baron Cohen won't be portraying late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury on the big screen after all.
Deadline.com says the actor has left the project over creative differences with surviving band members, who have the final say on the script and director. Cohen was looking to present an R-rated tell-all about the rocker, but the group wants to keep the film PG.
The people Cohen suggested to write and direct the film had also been rejected by Queen.
