It turns out Slayer won't be visiting the Last Frontier after all.
The metal vets were scheduled to take the stage in Alaska later this month for the first time in 17 years, but logistical problems have forced them to cancel the gig.
The band released a statement explaining that they were "really looking forward" to the October 22nd show in Anchorage, but they ran into trucking and air freighting issues.
They add that they hope to find a way to make it to Alaska sometime in 2014. In the meantime, Slayer will kick off a North American tour October 25th in Las Vegas.
